Inspiration

These images i found on the coolhunter website some are just lovely colours which relate to our brand but the elephant image is the direction we want to go in with our promotion and advertising so i thought it was really beneficial that i put this image up as its really inspirational.

Ways of Advertising

I have looked at a couple of ways of advertising for our brand, taking a spin off from what Natalie had looked at the Adidas logo cut out in grass i think its really effective and really reflects our brand, below are some images of different brands using this same idea.

Adidas Logo

This is for a bottled water company that uses recycled packaging which is going with out environmental friendly theme.

Environmentally Friendly Promotion

I have been researching into environmentally friendly advertisement/promotion and have found some interesting ideas which we may be able to use for our design:

This way of marking the street is temporary as it uses salt water to create an image on the pavement, however it evaporates slowly, therefore lasting a long time. This idea is good, because it disappears without a trace, therefore this type of promotion does not cause damage/disturbance to the pavement.

This Adidas promotional technique is to create the brand logo using grass. This suggests that the brand is environmentally friendly and it uses natural materials, rather than paint which can be hazardous to the environment.

This idea is similar to the idea showed previously in the blog. This idea is to clean a selected area of the pavement, to create the logo of the brand. This idea is good because it does not really use any materials, it is cheap to do and it will also fade over time, therefore it is not permanent.

Guerilla - advertising and gardening

This doesn't really relate to our brand idea but it is a really good inspirational video into guerilla advertising

This relates to our idea with Dolmio wanting to get their 'natural' message out.

Squares

This is a sample of the art work from Amy jackson. She went around a cleaned a perfect square into dirty or decayed areas, like this image of a square cleaned into a mossy flag. This method could be used as a guerilla promotion method highlighting our 'go green' protect the environment message. And instead of the 'cleaned by' plaque it could have the brand logo.

Lula Magazine – 5th Birthday Dinner and Pop Up Shop

I have been researching into the pop up shop for Lula Magazine's 5th Birthday. This pop up shop was placed within a Harvey Nichols store for one month. A meal took place on the revealing night of the pop up shop - adding the the hype. The main reasons in which this particularly interested me, was the use of a basic material, which I believe is cardboard, to create a luxury and boutique appearance. The basic recyclable cardboard material, is in keeping with the 'go green' theme, and the boutique look is in keeping with cosmetics and beauty. I think this may be an aspect we can consider when designing our pop up shop.

Pop up Retail and Advertising

As pop up retail is a fun and out there way to promote new and upcoming products, alot of brands or companies promote their products using below the line advertising (guerilla) advertising, this can be illegal in some cases, but this way is alot more creative than your average billboard or ad shell.

We need to consider different ways of advertising and promotion if we are going to promote our pop up store, guerilla advertising may be the way foward for our target audience.

Below are some examples and YouTube clips of Guerilla Advertsing,
